The international London Peace Conference on Saturday 20 June was hugely successful. It had the support of over a thousand MPs, trade union leaders, cultural figures, workplace activists and peace movement organisers from across Europe and beyond. Attendees at the conference came from 27 countries including Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Denmark, Spain, United States, France, Great Britain, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Palestine, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine.

“No day passes without our leaders preparing for war, and raiding our wages and welfare budgets for increased arms spending”, said John Rees from the Stop the War Coalition. “Now is the time for the international labour movement to resist military austerity and the drive to war.”
