The push for peace is gathering momentum ahead of next week’s TUC Congress…

At TUC Congress 2023, a resolution (Motion 71) will be debated that calls for increasing the west’s support for the war effort in Ukraine. Last year, a resolution calling for increased arms spending narrowly passed at Congress, this new resolution goes even further. If it passes the TUC will hold a position that aligns with the most pro-war elements of the British government.

It is crucial that trade unionists and the anti-war movement unite and push for peace negotiations in Ukraine rather than further escalation of the war.

The campaign to take down the motion is very much underway and the push for peace is gathering momentum ahead of next week’s Congress. In case you missed the meeting you can watch back the opening speeches from Andrew Murray (StWC), Louise Regan (NEU Exec) and Sean Vernell (UCU Exec) in the video above.
