Shocking events last night at the Greater Manchester Stop the Wa public meeting against western imperialism.

We utterly condemn the violent attack by fascists on Thursday night when the Greater Manchester Stop the War Coalition held a public meeting to discuss how to oppose Trump’s Drive to War. Attempts to storm the building were prevented by stewards and the meeting went ahead, although some genuine attendees were prevented from entering.
The attack was led by fascists well known in the city and supported by some of the Iranian monarchists who were protesting the meeting.
We condemn absolutely the attempt to prevent democratic discussion and further condemn the ability of these fascists to openly intimidate, abuse and film the trouble they provoke with, seemingly, no consequences.
The national demonstration against the far right, organised by the Together Alliance, in London on 28 March, will be critical to show the scale of opposition to these ideas. We encourage everyone to attend.
