This Saturday 6th September, Stop the War and the Palestine Coalition will once again mobilise activists across the country to march through London to Whitehall to protest against Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza.
As the two year anniversary approaches, the situation in Gaza is more desperate than ever. Since we last marched in August Israel has launched a ground invasion into the Gaza strip and intensified its bombardment. The IPC has confirmed that large parts of the territory are now in a state of famine and the world’s leading genocide scholars’ association has voted overwhelmingly to recognise that Israel’s war on Gaza has met the legal criteria for genocide. Meanwhile our government continues to fail to uphold its legal duty to prevent and stop genocide while continuing its unprecedented attack on the Palestine movement at home with the arrest on Tuesday of five of Defend Our Juries’ key spokespeople.
Therefore it is vital we mobilise as many people as possible this Saturday to demand the UK government stop arming Israel, to call for a free Palestine, and to defend our right to protest. To do so, Stop the War activists are organising mass leafleting sessions around London over the next three days. We ask anyone who can to join one of these sessions, or to organise one in your area, it is vital we all play our part to build this demonstration and to push for the biggest possible turnout on Saturday.
