Demonstration is part of Global Day of Action – Stop the Genocide in Gaza

Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza are expected to take to the streets of London on Saturday (17 February).

The national march for Palestine will assemble at Hyde Park (Speakers’ Corner) at noon and march for the first time to the Israeli Embassy.

It comes just days after an emergency protest outside Downing Street drew thousands of demonstrators to Whitehall within just a few hours of being called.

It is part of a Global Day of Action for Gaza, which will see millions out in cities across the world in protest at Israel’s genocide in Gaza, which has slaughtered nearly 30,000 Palestinian men, women and children.

Stop the War convenor Lindsey German said:

“We are witnessing genocide in real time. It is clear that Israel is intent on driving the Palestinians out from Gaza and the West Bank, to ethnically cleanse them from historic Palestine. We are determined they won’t succeed.

“We will keep marching and protesting, day after day, week after week in demand of an immediate ceasefire. This Saturday we’re going to the Israeli embassy, to make clear to the regime waging war on the people of Gaza that we will continue to stand with Palestine for as long as it takes.”
