‘With Banners Held High’ Fringe Meeting – Standing up for Jobs, Justice, Peace & Health
Our Convenor, Lindsey German, will be speaking at a fringe meeting on Friday 9 May 2025 at 5pm in Wakefield Town Hall. This fringe will be on Standing up for Jobs, Justice, Peace & Health.
This will be a fantastic discussion on trade unionism and defending the right to protest. Lindsey will speak on recent anti-protest legislation and the policing of the national Palestine demonstrations, touching on the events in January 2025 where our vice-chair and chief steward of the national demonstrations in London was violently arrested, along with at least 76 other peaceful protestors.
Other speakers will talk on the ongoing campaign for Truth and Justice at Orgreave and the efforts to save jobs and British Steel at Scunthorpe.
