NATIONAL SCHOOL & UNI STRIKE FOR PALESTINE

One year of genocide – Ceasefire Now!

Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people has, unbelievably, been going on for almost a whole year. After a year of mass bombardment and the targeting of even so-called safe zones, there is nowhere safe for the Palestinian people.

For the entire duration, the British government – first Tory and now Labour – have actively facilitated the mass murder by continuing to arm Israel and protecting it diplomatically.

School and university students in Britain are saying enough. If the government will not represent the views of the majority of the public then it falls on us to take action as part of the mass movement in solidarity with the Palestinian people, to pressure them to stop arming Israel and genuinely push for an immediate ceasefire.

On Thursday 10th October, alongside workers organising in their workplaces as part of the national day of action, students nationally are organising walkouts from schools and universities to demand a ceasefire now, an end to all arms sales to Israel and an end to the censorship on Palestine in academic institutions.

How to organise a school strike:

  1. Gather a group of dedicated students/parents in your school/area and create a WhatsApp group.
  2. Fill out this Google form if you want any help from us and we can try and put you in touch with others in your area.
  3. Pick a central location in your area to have a rally or plan a rally outside your school on the day.
  4. Fill out this Google form to let us know about your school strike so we can help you with a graphic, advertise it nationally including making a Facebook event for you, put you in touch with local activists and help/advise with anything else.
  5. Use this leaflet template (coming soon) to add the details of your school strike rally, print out and distribute at your school, university, local mosque etc to build the school strike. There is a day of action on Friday 27 September to get leaflets and posters out as widely as possible.
