The devastating effects of drones in Pakistan were illustrated this month by an infrographic produced by Pitch Interactive:
Of the estimated 3,100 people killed in those strikes, it shows, 1.5% were identified by US officials as "high-profile" targets, or suspected legitimate bad guys - that, despite the vaunted talk by the US of "precision strikes."
The rest were children, civilians, and "other" - those identified by the Obama administration as alleged combatants simply because they are adult males, regardless of what they may or may not have done.
March against drones - 27th April
On the 27th April Stop the War - along with CND, War on Want and the Drones Campaign Network - will march to the UK's new centre of drones at RAF Waddington near Lincoln to demand that the UK government grounds the drones.

TEN, at the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs at the Royal Court on Sunday 7 April at 6pm to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the invasion of Iraq – and to celebrate the enduring anti-war movement.
TEN, a benefit event for Stop the War, comprises ten, ten-minute pieces with specially commissioned new plays, music, poetry and comedy from British and Middle Eastern artists, including Brian Eno, Saadi Yusef, Kika Markham, Roger Lloyd Pack, Ahmed Mukhtar, Jane Laportaire, Shappi Khorsandi and Timothy West.
Each play will be introduced by a leading political figure from the anti-war movement, including Tony Benn, Ken Livingstone, Lindsey German, Jeremy Corbyn MP and Ken Loach.
The event will include an exclusive screening of Harold Pinter reading poems from his collection War in 2004.
TEN years on from the Iraq invasion, Brian Eno said – ‘Far from admitting it was a mistake, there’s now a vigorous effort to rewrite history and convince us that, in the end, it has all turned out for the good. In order that we don’t embark on yet another stupid war – In Iran, or Mali, or anywhere else, we need to remember what really happened in Iraq.’

Stop the War is holding its next national Steering Committee Meeting on the 6th April in London. Affiliated groups & organisations are eligible to send two delegates. With new interventions and the threat of new wars, this will be an important gathering to decide how we will respond.
