Wednesday public meeting: Woolwich and the War on Terror

Stop the War Coalition .

The Woolwich attack appears to represent a phenomenon that was pointed out nearly a decade ago by the security services in Britain: that the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq would lead to a growing threat of terrorism in Britain. We have long predicted that these sorts of attacks would happen because of the war on terror.

In the last few weeks we have also seen a rise in Islamophobic attacks, including a bomb planted outside a mosque and a fire at an Islamic school, reminding us of the importance of challenging the division at home sown by the wars abroad.

Join us for a public meeting with to discuss Woolwich and the War on Terror with Ken Livingstone, Rachel Shabi (author of Not the Enemy: Israel's Jews from Arab Lands), Lindsey German (Stop the War Coalition), Shamiul Joarder (Enough Coalition against Islamophobia), Joe Glenton (former soldier in Afghanistan and author of Soldier Box) and Mohamed Ali (Islam Channel).

The meeting is on Wednesday 26 June, 7pm
Conway Hall, 25 Red Lion Square, London WC1R 4RL
Free entrance - all welcome
