1. TURN UP THE HEAT ON NEXT PRIME MINISTER: USE THE OPEN LETTER
It's time to ratchet up the pressure on Blair's replacement and get the open letter calling for troops out and a change of policy signed by Labour MP's,councillors, party officials and others.(http://tinyurl.com/ywtmg8)

We can also use the open letter as a petition on stalls, at trade union meetings and rallies to get the widest possible campaign in motion. We will then have a high profile hand-in of the letter to Blair's successor when he takes office in 7 or 8 weeks time.

Watch out for George Browns hustings meetings across the country and make sure that the anti-war movement is there to remind him that we will not tolerate a Blair Mark II.

The situation in Iraq and Afghanistan is getting more and more desperate Everyone from Ex-CIA chiefs to recently returned British squaddies say that the US Coalition war in Iraq is lost. Meanwhile death and destruction continue to stalk the country. In the US the Democrats have been forced to call for troops out. We must bring our own politicians to heel.

3 MILITARY FAMILIES CAMPAIGN DAY Saturday 12 May Help Needed.
Members of Military Families are organising public stalls in various towns and cities across the country on Saturday May 12th. As casualties reach the highest levels since the invasion in Iraq anger against the war is mounting in the military. Two serving soldiers have called for troops out in the last few days (www.mfaw.org.uk) and nearly 1,000 members of military families have now joined the campaign.

The campaign has asked the Stop the War Coalition to support this day of action. Please get in touch with any military families in your area and assist them in organising Military Families Against the War stalls. Please forward any contact details of soldiers or families to
contact@mfaw.org.uk.

4. TOM MORELLO GIG

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINES TOM MORELLO TO PLAY BRING THE TROOPS HOME UK CONCERT Just as Rage are reforming Tom Morello plays in the UK for the first time in two years

I am enormously proud to be an American. I would say that the things our corporate-controlled government has done at best are shameful, and at worst, genocidal People often get tricked into going overseas and fighting Uncle Sam's Wall Street wars, but these are people who knew what they were fighting for here at home. I think that that's so much more courageous and brave."

Rage Against the Machines guitarist and political and social activist, Tom Morello, performs for the Bring The Troops Home concert at Londons SCALA (Kings Cross) on Monday 4 June 2007.

He will be supported by: Ed Harcourt, (www.edharcourt.com), Frank Turner (www.frank-turner.com) and with comedian, Mark Steel as MC. Toms new album as The Nightwatchman, One Mans Revolution is an urgent portrait of a world in turmoil. The Grammy Award-winning guitarist of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, compares war zones in the US and Iraq.

Very shortly Labour will elect a new leader. We are launching a campaign to try to force the new Prime Minister to break with Bush's foreign policy. We have drawn up an open letter to the new Prime Minister calling for all troops to be pulled out of Iraq by October 2007, for there to be no attack on Iran and for the government to break with Washington's foreign policy. Please contact your local STWC group and contact your local Labour MP, councillors and constituency officers to get as many of them as possible to sign the letter.

We are asking all our supporters to join this protest. (If the attack takes place at night, the protest will take place at 6pm on the following day, or if on a weekend, at 12 noon on the appropriate day).
