Help stop the spread of war
Help stop the spread of war
Thank you to everyone who came and made Saturday's international anti-war conference such a huge success. 1,000 attended the event and judging by the feedback we have had, people got a huge amount out of the debate, analysis and discussion.

It was obvious from the conference that there is a urgent desire to step up resistance to the new round of wars.
We need your help.
We want to revitalise the movement everywhere. We are asking all of our local groups to organise public meetings/rallies/film screenings about confronting war ten years on around the anniversary of the invasion of Iraq on March 20.
If you can help putting an event on in your college, town or area please contact us and we will put you in touch with others nearby. We can provide you with advice, materials, speakers, films, and publicity. Just get in touch.

Ground the Drones
Over the past four years, the US has launched hundreds of drone strikes in Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia and Libya, with reliable reports showing thousands of people have been killed, including hundreds of children. In Afghanistan where the US and UK have launched over 1,500 drone strikes, it is simply not known how many people have perished in these strikes. In Gaza too, many Palestinians have been killed by Israeli drone strikes.
Drones have become the latest weapon of choice in the so-called war on terror. Drones make it much easier for politicians to launch military intervention and assassinate suspects anywhere in the world. Drones are making the world a much more dangerous place.
This spring, the UK will double its number of armed Reaper drones in Afghanistan and will for the first time, begin operating drones over Afghanistan from a new facility at RAF Waddington near Lincoln. On Saturday 27th April at 1pm Drone Wars UK, CND, Stop the War and War on Want will gather in Lincoln Town Centre to march to RAF Waddington and hold a public rally calling for an end to the growing drone wars.
