Bush Inauguration - Photo Op

The Stop the War Coalition and CND will be holding a silent candlelit vigil outside the US Embassy to mark the day of Bush's inauguration, this evening from 5 till 6pm, Grosvenor Square.

Bruce Kent, David Shayler, George Galloway, Tony Benn, Jeremy Corbyn, Pat Arrowsmith, Rae Street, Kate Hudson, Lindsey German and others will be attending.

There will be one hundred candles each representing one thousand Iraqi civilians killed since the invasion. We will also be laying a wreath and leaving a coffin outside the embassy to mark all those who have died unnecessarily at the hands of the Bush administration.

Lindsey German, Convenor of the Stop the War Coalition, said:

"We are living in unparalleled dangerous times. Not satisfied with the destruction of one sovereign nation, the Bush administration are banging the drums of war yet again, now with their sites on Iran. Tonight we will be remembering all those who have been killed in this 'war on terror'".
