Media Release, 18 March 2004 National Demonstration, Saturday 20th March Tens of thousand of protestors will take to the streets of London this Saturday in protest against the Iraq war and the continued occupation of the country. The demonstration will mark a year since the war on Iraq began. The march assembles at Hyde Park at 12 noon and will go to Trafalgar Square where there will be a rally. Thousands of balloons will be released in memory to the thousands of Iraqis killed, as well as those killed by the bombs in Madrid. Speakers at the rally include London mayor Ken Livingstone, rail workers union leader Bob Crow, MPs George Galloway, Alice Mahon and Jeremy Corbyn, Guantanamo Bay lawyer Louise Christian and MI5 whistleblower David Shayler. Violinist Nigel Kennedy will play and there will also be music by Asian Dub Foundation Sound System, Un-People and GM-Babyz and an Iraqi pianist.
