Trafalgar Square Peace Camp ‘For Peace and Liberty’ March 16 to March 19th
Join George Galloway MP, Andrew Murray (chair Stop the War), and Kate Hudson (chair CND), who will be sleeping over at the Peace Camp The ‘war on terror’ continues and Bush’s sights are now set on Syria and Iran together with an unprecedented attack on civil liberties. To protest against these developments Stop the War Coalition is hosting a Peace Camp on Trafalgar Square from Wednesday March 16th till March 19th. We are inviting all supporters of peace and freedom to join us Each evening of the camp there will be special events: Wednesday 16th Press call 5pm 5.30pm Rhythms of Resistance and Nayfumble will perform followed by Mark Steel and others at 7pm. 8.30pm Performance of An Apology (Of Sorts) by Adrian Page performed by Matthew Hahn 9.00pm Robb Johnson Thursday 17th – 5pm Guiseppe Nieddu, didgeridoo player 5.30pm Lara Agar-Stoby and Penny Lisle perform ‘No Left Left’ 7pm Forum on ‘Bush Wars and Terror Laws’. Featuring Tony Benn, Shami Chakrabati, Jeremy Corbyn, Louise Christian and Lindsey German 7.30pm. 9pm Music by The Rub and Carpetface Jugglers and magicians Friday 18th – Discussion: Chris Bambery and Hilary Wainwright report from the Italian anti-war movement 5pm Forum: Military Families speak out 6pm Followed by an evening of music hosted by Peace not War Including MC’s Skinnyman, Lowkey, Unpeople and others The Peace Camp is sponsored by Stop the War Coalition; CND; Muslim Association of Britain; London CND; Military Families Against the War; Bookmarks; Housmans Peace Bookshop; School Students against the War; Respect; Friendship Across Frontiers; Campaign Against Criminalising Communities; Red Pepper; Hampstead and Highgate Woodcraft Folk; The Kingsbridge Peace Group, Caroline Lucas [MEP], Jean Lambert [MEP], Jeremy Corbyn [MP];George Galloway [MP], Tony Benn, Brian Eno, Gareth Peirce, Ken Loach Katherine Hamnett is designing a special t-shirt for the peace camp.
