Downing Street Protest

Thursday 28th July 5.30pm

Tomorrow the Stop the War Coalition will be protesting the death of Jean Charles de Menezes, the young Brazilian man killed by officers from CO19 -   Scotland Yard's elite firearms squad.  Metropolitan police commissioner Sir Ian Blair now says that Londoners must expect further police shootings. We will be outside Downing Street to demand an end to this shoot-to-kill policy. We will also be calling for an end to the occupation of Iraq and for the withdrawal of British troops. It is the presence of UK troops in Iraq which is fuelling this terror bombing campaign in London. A fact which, although disputed by Prime Minister Tony Blair, is accepted by 85% of the population of this country.
