Press Release Stop the War Press Conference

Guantanamo Detainee speaks out

Martin Mubanga, recently released from Guantanamo Bay, will be speaking out about his experience at Camp Delta.   Louise Christian, human rights lawyer will be answering questions about the how the British legal system is begining to resemble Guantanamo-style justice.   "We are delighted that Martin is able to join our battle against this war on terror" said Lindsey German, Convenor of the Stop the War Coalition. "The fact that we don't know whether he can even be with us on Monday because of the threat of a Home Office control order hanging over him this weekend, shows just how far the government is willing to go to restrict our civil liberties."      The Stop the War PRESS CONFERENCE will be held in the conference room at NAFTHE Building, Britannia Street, London WC1 Monday, March 14 at 11.00am
Prominent members of the anti-war movement including Tony Benn, Lindsey German, George Galloway, Corin Redgrave, Ken Loach, Louise Christian (Human Rights Lawyer)  and recently released Guantanamo prisoner Martin Mubanga will be at the conference. The conference will give details of events in the run up to the demonstration on March 19th, as well as the arrangements for the day itself.     For more information contact Carmel Brown 07786 155105 or Andrew Burgin on 07939 242229
