Dear Friends,

On March 20 2003, George Bush, Tony Blair and Jose Marie Aznar launched the invasion and occupation of Iraq. Three years later the occupation is a blight on the conscience of the world.

The World Social Forum Assembly of the Social Movements meeting in Venezuela called for everyone to mobilise on March 18th 2006 for a global day of protest to get the troops out of Iraq. All over the globe protests marked the anniversary of the start of the war and called for its rapid end.

The point of this website has been to share and consolidate information about all the protests, to help every organisation mobilize, and to generate the maximum publicity for all who protest. We aimed to list as many of the actions planned for the global protests against the war as possible and now we are gathering reports of the protests, so that this website can serve as a permanent record of the 2006 day of action.
