Protest for release of Iraqi journalist, 1pm, Friday 19 December

Image
Protest in Sadr City
Iraqi journalist expressed Iraq's 'legitimate and overwhelming opposition to US led occupation'.

Media Workers Against the War, and the International Federation of Journalists have called for the immediate release of Muntadar Al-Zaidi, the journalist who hurled his shoes at George Bush in protest at his bloody occupation of Iraq. Al-Zaidi has not been seen since he was arrested. The BBC reports he has been severely beaten.

Muntadar Al-Zaidi's life maybe in danger. Not even his family know his whereabouts. We must speak out for the right of Iraqis to protest this criminal occupation.

Media Workers Against the War have called a protest at 1pm at the US embassy on Friday 19 December. They will be handing in a letter calling for his release. Stop the War is supporting this protest and is asking people to bring shoes to hand in to the embassy
