This film shows what happened on 6 August 1945 when the US dropped the first atom bomb on Hiroshima. The footage was hidden for 20 years by the US state department.
Today Britain spends £2.2bn a year maintaining its weapons of nuclear mass destruction, each of which is many times more deadly than the bomb that destroyed Hiroshima.
The government plans to spend £100bn on renewing Britain's Trident nuclear missile system, costing more than twice the national debt we are told can only be reduced by slashing public expenditure on social services, hospitals, schools and transport.
