At the height of the 2014 poppy mania, Manchester University debated whether to wear or not to wear the symbol of remembrance for all who died in Britain's wars over the past 100 years.
On 9 November 2014, Richmond Stop the War in West London organised its own march to commemorate Remembrance Sunday.
Demonstrators in London braved atrocious weather to voice a strong, concerted response against the airstrikes in Iraq and the extension of war into Syria.
We said it would be the UK's biggest demonstration for Gaza ever and it was. On Saturday 9 August, 150,000 marched from BBC Broadcasting House to Hyde Park, passing the US Embassy on the way.
Over 60,000 marched in London for the second time in seven days, as towns and cities across the UK and worldwide demonstrated for Gaza.
