The threat of war on Iran remains high and tensions in the Middle East are growing. The US is committed to regime change in Iran. The drone assasination of Qasem Soleimani, one of Iran's top generals, was an act of war. Since that killing the US has stepped up sanctions to the point where they are strangling the country.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi government's demand for US troops to leave the country reflects widespread popular opinion. Despite massive demonstrations against the US troops, Trump has refused to withdraw them. The anti-war movement needs to be preparing for further action to avert another major war in the Middle East.
