PCS Fringe Meeting: Why We Need An Anti-War Government
Weds 22 May | 12:30

Eighteen years of the War on Terror has caused untold misery and led to the spread of terrorism across the globe. Successive British governments have unquestioningly followed their US counterparts into catastrophic interventions and occupations from Afghanistan and Iraq to Syria and Libya with disastrous consequences.
Even the arrival of Donald Trump in the White House has not deterred the Tories from following the US's lead. In fact, in the war in Yemen Britain has been the one of the main cheerleaders for the Saudi Arabian regime which has reaped huge destruction in one of the poorest countries on earth, selling them over £4.5 billion worth of arms whilst 13 million people are at risk of starvation.
We need an end to the 'bomb first, talk later' approach. It's time for a new foreign policy. It's time for an anti-war government.
