Video: Who will watch the drone operaters watching us?
THE EYES, ears and weapons of drone warfare are familiar in the skies of Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen and anywhere else the US and its allies have decided there is a country that needs western military intervention.
But as this video shows, drone technology is coming home fast and will very soon be watching YOU.
Britain's population is already the most spied upon in the world, but there has been virtually no public debate in Britain of the plans to fill our skies with drone airplanes by 2020.
This drone spyware will be capable of putting every aspect of our lives under surveillance, with a potentially serious violation of our civil rights and right to privacy.
The UK government has given £31 million to British defence companies to examine how drones can share flight paths with commercial jets. A further £20 million of taxpayers' money has been granted to develop the biggest drone test site in Europe.
But who will be watching the drone operaters as they watch us? Whether it is the police or private companies or even individuals spying on their neighbours, who will be responsible for monitoring this huge extension of the surviellance state?
