Add a group to the directory

You MUST read and understand the notes below before using this form! All fields in purple must be entered. Please check your group is not already listed first.

Please note that, for reasons of space, this directory is UK-focussed. We are very happy to link to directories that list anti-war groups and activities in other countries on our Links page. We regret that we cannot list groups based outside the UK on this site.

Groups will be listed on the site only after they have been checked. This may take time, particularly if you do not follow the instructions or do not give enough information. If you have any problems using this form you can also email us (Add / correct group email address groups@stopwar.org.uk).

Once you have completed the form, please consider affiliating your group to the Stop the War Coalition if you have not already yet done so.

Notes

Who? Title /
Name
The Title should be the name commonly used for your organisation. This could be the abbreviated form of the full group name. For example, if your organisation is usually referred to by its initials then enter these as the 'title'. You should then put the full name in the subtitle field.
subtitle The subtitle is optional and is usually used to show the full title of an organisation.
What? Affiliated?
Details on how your group may formally affiliate to the Stop the War Coalition can be found by clicking on the affiliate button. We encourage all groups and organisations campaigning to stop the war to affiliate.
Type of
group
You can set more than one type of group. For example, an anti-war university group would be 'Anti-War or Peace', 'Youth or Student' and 'Work or Union' if it is open to students and staff. Note that you should not set your type of group to be 'Anti-War or Peace' unless the group was established specifically as an anti-war or peace focussed group. All groups listed in the directory will be involved in the anti-war movement!
Where? Region
+location
The Region should be set to either 'NATIONAL' or to the area your group serves. If your group covers a specific area, you must also specify the county, city, town, etc. your group serves in the location field.
Getting in touch Contact
details:
This section is very important because it is here that you specify how people are to get in touch with you. You need to remember to keep these details up-to-date. All fields are optional.
Website website Both website and email details will be visible on the groups listing page. When specifying a website for your group, leave out the 'http://' part.
Email address email
Telephone number telephone Please quote telephone and fax numbers as if you were dialling a UK national call, eg., 020 3424 2342 (or 07485 2342 for mobiles). Include spaces for clarity.
Fax machine fax
Postal address post For your own safety, you may wish to put a Post Office (PO) Box address or a contact address via a friendly cafe or bookshop, rather than identify where you live. The usual rule is: think what you would put on a leaflet. A 'business address' also has the advantage of letting someone else pick up post if you are away.
About Description /
Notes
This will hold any brief information to be shown on the main groups listing.
Security Password The password is required to allow you to alter or add to group details in the future.
General tips Several of the form fields are restricted to only allow you to enter certain characters. For example, some fields cannot contain numbers, or special characters, etc. Some fields are restricted by length. If you put a number or punctuation symbol in an inappropriate field, when you submit the form you will receive a message stating the name of the form field causing problems, and the kinds of characters that are allowed. Simply edit the field to remove any characters not specified (e.g., if it says letters and white-space, then only A-Z and space are allowed).
